Project Less (2014-2016)

'It turns out that it is possible to use supermarket self-checkout machines to buy nothing. This was done frequently during a two-year period and hundreds of the resulting receipts, proof of these zero-transactions, collected. The receipts were compiled into books (entitled Less and More Less); an A0 poster version was made available; an 'how to' tutorial (originally created for #LowTechLabLondon2016 at Saatchi Gallery) was shared, and another 'simupoem' (Exchanging) was developed. The original sound recording of the interaction, transcribed for use in this film, is also available.
